A well maintained and tidy garden has many benefits. It can increase the value of your property and help to sell it. Many house buyers can be put off a property if the garden has been left unattended, as it is usually the first thing they will see when going to view a property.
Having a tidy garden does not have to be expensive and time consuming. Below I have listed 5 low cost ways to improve the look of your garden
1. Removing weeds and turning over the soil (also known as tilling or cultivating soil) is a very simple but effect way to improve the look of your garden. Dry soil is the best to till , even though it may be a little tougher but it breaks into smaller chunks and is better for aeration in the soil. Once this is done and the weeds are removed the area is ready for planting or mulching.

garden a neat and tidy look at the same time. In summer it can help keep moisture in the ground around plant roots and prevents weeds from growing as easily. The best time to mulch your borders is mid spring when the soil is warm and moist.

This is very low cost solution compared to them being replaced as long as they are not rotten. However it can be quite time consuming if you are painting with a brush. There are a few different electric paint sprayers on the market that will spray most brush on wood preserve and they are a lot quicker than using a brush, but you have to be aware that when using a sprayer you will have over spray, so don't use on a windy day as you might end up leaving over spray on what ever is near ie. neighbors car.

are free to the domestic user but it you don't have use of transport to get your waste to the recycling center then the best option is to hire a skip. They can cost from around £80 for the smallest skip but be aware if you are keeping the skip on a public road overnight some councils require you to apply for a permit to do this.

looks. If grass is left to long between cuts causes it look very untidy and when it does have a cut it will turn the grass a yellow. Also when the grass is long it makes it a lot harder to cut. Please have a look at my other article about lawn mowing techniques. In longer uncut grass weeds have a better chance of going to seed and spreading.
